It’s been a week since we came back from our wonderful retreat in the Poconos and I can’t help but feel nostalgic for those 3 days. Being away in the mountains sure magnifies the intensity of Penn when you come back. Too bad we already have midterms coming up and papers/presentations left and right.
Beloved fans, do not fear! We have a concert repertoire that will definitely blow your minds! Amidst all our academics we have found time to not only memorize an amazing Adele arrangement featuring one of our newbies, but also to start a beautiful rendition of Arirang (아리랑) – a Korean folk song.
This arrangement was generously shared with us by the Yonsei University Concert Choir and we are so excited to be able to share this piece of the Korean culture with all of you.
Lastly, is it just me or does life seem like a game of mafia? I think too many hours of playing into the night has made me super paranoid – I feel as though I can trust no one. The girl on the bike who just avoided running into me? She may be a cop. That man walking towards me avoiding eye contact? Definitely the mafia. Oh and my Public Policy Professor? He always lets us out 30 minutes early & it’s way too fishy… HE MUST BE THE VAMPIRE.
Alas, the time has come to return to reality and trek on towards our concert date. We may have picked up a few weird “isms” (ie. MEEENT – see 2nd picture above, and “Ai shi fong” – courtesy of Stephen) but we are still PennSori! Cannot wait to debut our newbies as well as our new group dynamic opening at APAHW’s Clara C concert!
Have an amazing week!
